If you’re in Boston’s Fenway neighborhood this time of year, it’s likely for a ball game! You’ll be welcomed by a sea of red and blue Red Sox Jerseys and lots of hot dogs with Heinz ketchup amid the Fenway ketchup debacle. But, what do you do to fill the rest of the day when you’ve made the trip out to Fenway?
1. Attend a Red Sox game at Fenway ballpark
If you’re in Fenway (baseball fan or not) you must go to a Red Sox game at least once! The season lasts from late March through October each year, so there is plenty of time to swing by and enjoy a game. It’s great for sports fans, but a cool social experience as well. When games aren’t in session, Fenway is a great place to catch a concert either at the ballpark or the newly renovated MGM Music Hall.
2. Enjoy a delicious fast-casual meal around the neighborhood
As a sports-centric area, Fenway is filled with great fast casual dining options. You’ll likely have worked out an appetite after all that cheering during the game. Some of our favorite spots are Tatte for a yummy brunch at anytime, Tenderoni’s for pizza in a diner style setting, and Eventide for seafood!
3. Enjoy a stay at Hotel Commonwealth and be the Red Sox manager for the day
For a limited time, this batting season, Hotel Commonwealth, the official hotel of the Boston Red Sox, and the Red Sox have teamed up to allow guests the chance to shadow the Red Sox management team. It ain’t cheap, but hey, you can add “Red Sox Manager” to your resume after it.
4. Explore 200+ rose varieties at the Fens
The Kelleher Rose Garden, located in the Back Bay Fens is a garden escape at the heart of the city. There are pink, red, orange, yellow, white, and fuchsia roses galore! Give the flowers a wiff and take some pics by the fountains and rose covered arbor!
5. Grab dessert at Boston’s only late-night donut speakeasy
Hailing from The Vineyahd is Back Door Donuts. Open from 7 PM until 2:30 AM daily grab one of their yummy treats as the perfect night cap! They’re also great after a concert at Fenway!
