We’re not superficial people… but we can’t help but love a gorgeously designed interior for a restaurant when we see one! These 8 restaurants bring the culinary experience to a whole new level with their perfectly curated ambience. Whether you’re more interested in the food or the pictures for your Insta story, well — we won’t judge either way!
As the name suggests, Lookout Rooftop at the Envoy Hotel promises a view to remember. Recently voted as one of the best date night spots in America, this Seaport restaurant overlooks the entirety of downtown from the penthouse floor. These killer views are enjoyable all year round, as Lookout provides clear, heated igloos to dine inside when the weather’s cold.
Transport yourself to a traditional Parisian bistro when you step inside the doors of Aquitaine in Shawmut. With classic French dishes like escargot and coq au vin, your tastebuds will be as delighted as your eyes in this classy yet casual restaurant. Our favorite seats are near the bar, where the intricate black-and-white floor tiling gives off that classic bistro vibe.
Mexican eatery Citrus & Salt was made for taking Instagram photos, from their over-the-top cocktails and vibrant dishes to their dazzling decor. Tropical flowers, show-stopping murals, and strings upon strings of fairy lights will enchant you just as much as their photogenic dishes and drinks.
Nestled behind an unassuming facade in the Theater District lies Teatro, a casual Italian eatery that’s just perfect for pre- or post-performance drinks. Once you’re seated in the dining room, you’ll feel as if you’re dining in the lobby of an old Art Deco theater. Our favorite feature is the stunning colored ceiling lights that create a moody yet intimate ambience all around.
Yvonne’s, one of our favorite speakeasies in Boston, is tucked away inside a dark stairwell in Downtown Crossing. Inside, you’ll find a delightfully dark and refined supper club accented with marble & mahogany wood all around. The atmosphere is key here—with cow-hide chairs and candlelit tables, you’ll feel perfectly at ease to knock back some of their signature house cocktails in secrecy.
This eclectic bar on Beacon Hill delivers multiple photo-op spots and gorgeous drinks to match, all in one venue. Flamingo and floral-print wallpaper line the perimeters of this cozy-chic club, and with neon signs and velvet lined booths, you’ll be sure to snap an iconic Insta story here. Oh, and the bathrooms have perfect mirror-selfie lighting!
Coquette, Seaport’s newest French restaurant, is a whimsical dream of decadent decor and down-to-earth vibes. Dining chairs are swathed in velvet, art nouveau murals decorate the walls, and bright-red Murano glass chandeliers glimmer from the ceiling as you dine. Think of it as a more low-key version of Versailles—perfect for a fun and flirty date night.
Hojoko is one of our favorite ramen spots in Boston, and they also step it up when it comes to a fun and energetic atmosphere. Both the inside and outside of this Japanese tavern are decorated in vibrant murals, blending together a Japanese visual style and American graffiti. There’s plenty of good food and good vibes to go around!
