Founded by Pastry Chef turned Chocolatier, Betty Petrova, the beloved shop, Petrova Chocolates is making its way across The Harbor to open a second brick-and-mortar location in Boston. Petrova Chocolates will open a physical storefront on Salem Street in the North End this spring!
It’s a full-circle moment for founder, Betty Petrova, who started selling chocolates out of a tiny brick North End apartment offering pandemic pick-ups, crafting three to four molds of specialty truffles at a time—humble beginnings juxtaposed with the extensive demand and growth of Petrova Chocolates.
Petrova Chocolates opened its first chocolate shop and Snowport pop-up in nearly the same year. Betty shared in an announcement online:
This moment feels like closing a full circle for me as a small business owner. Some of you might remember those pandemic pick-ups from my tiny spot in the North End. Back then, I was working out of a small brick apartment, crafting just 3-4 molds of chocolate at a time in my kitchen. Now, we’re returning to where it all started, but with a little more space—and quite a bit more than 3 molds per round!
The boutique will offer Petrova Chocolates’ delicious assortment of chocolate bonbons in creative flavors like Chestnut Miso Pecan Pie and Tamarind Peanut Butter, alongside other delights. The new shop is anticipated to open this spring.
For now, shop Petrova Chocolates online and in East Boston at 277 Border Street.
