Designed by “Boston’s best hospitality design studio,” is a Spanish-inspired restaurant in the heart of South Boston. Dalia, is the neest concept from Chef Nicholas Dixon of the Broadway Restaurant Group, the same team behind some of Boston’s most beloved restaurants like Lincoln Tavern & Restaurant and Capo in South Boston as well as the recently opened Capri Italian Steakhouse in Boston’s South End.
One of Boston’s most beautiful new restaurant openings

Assembly Design Studio took the reins on designing the new restaurant, and just days after opening, Dalia is already being crowned “Boston’s most beautiful new restaurant opening.” The design team wanted to transport guests from South Boston to Spain.
They accomplished their vision by literally bringing a piece of Spain to Boston, think hand-painted Spanish tiles and custom wallpaper that exude Mallorca or Barcelona.
Erica Diskin, owner of Assembly Design Studio is no stranger to the extrordinary vision of the team at the Broadway Restaurant Group, having worked with them to bring to life several other of their restaurants, such as the equally stunning Prima in Charlestown.
We often say that great food requires depth of flavor, and a great room requires depth in its design—Dalia is, by far, our most layered project to date. From the outset, it was clear that the restaurant would center around an open kitchen, evoking the feeling of a home where conversations naturally gather around food and cooking.
Velvet banquettes sit beneath a sunlit atrium with a retractable glass canopy, filled with greenery and anchored by a rustic fireplace. Distressed plaster walls, reclaimed wrought iron arches, and lush plantings are paired with wide-plank reclaimed wood flooring and ornate Spanish tile. These elements come together in layers, creating a space that feels relaxed, warm, and inviting. The back room offers a more refined experience, with a large floral chandelier and arched windows, designed to feel like a special place to celebrate life,” notes Diskin.
A taste of Spain in South Boston

Southie offers a myriad of unique cuisines, but a Spanish restaurant of this caliber has yet to land in the neighborhood. Chef Dixon drew inspiration from his time in Spain, adopting traditional cooking techniques that lend confidence to the quality cooking “la brasa,” which translates to “cooked over embers and kissed by fire.”
We’re really excited to add Dalia to our family of South Boston restaurants,” says Broadway Restaurant Group Owner Eric Aulenback. “From our start, the team at BRG has always worked hard to create comfortable places with great food and service that we felt the neighborhood both wanted and needed at the time. We’re hoping Dalia continues this trend by expanding the dining options available in the area while enhancing the collective draw that has become the South Boston dining scene.”
The menu at Dalia offers an entire section dedicated to paella, a classic Spanish dish from Valencia made with saffron rice, veggies, and a rotation of meats or seafood. The aroma of homemade Spanish breads wafts through the air and completely compliments some of the tapas on the menu.
Not only did the tiles travel from Spain, but so did most of the kitchen buildout. Four Basque-style grills, a Barcelona-built Josper Kitchen, and a wood-fire broiler ensure authentic cooking techniques.
Menu highlights incluse Savory Churros with crab and caviar, Lubina Sea Bass from the Canary islands, Empenda de Seta, and a three-phase paella.
