Heralded as one of Boston’s “most beautiful new restaurants,” Capri feels like an Italian garden oasis in the city. But if it’s the striking visuals that get hungry diners through the door, it’s the addicting Honey Buns that keep them coming back for more.

The Italian Riviera-inspired space only opened in July 2025, but is already earning accolades like, “best new restaurant opening on Beli for 2025 in Boston and “one of the top 10 most booked restaurants in the country,” according to OpenTable.
Although Capri boasts an impressive 7,000-square-foot double-decker space in the less touristy neighborhood of Boston’s South End, it’s nearly impossible to snag a reservation at this new Italian hotspot. From the same team behind Capo in South Boston and Prima in Charlestown, Capri brings that familiar lavish, yet rustic ambiance to South End.
We’ve been very lucky to have a long standing working relationship with this amazing crew. And with each individual restaurant build out we do with them, we seek to create a space that has a unique personality and story to tell. At Capri, not only did we want to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere, but also a space where guests could have a variety of dining experiences under one big umbrella. Pun intended, of course. The space itself is beautiful. It’s a stunning mix of rustic mill and modern industrial. We wanted the design to celebrate the older, more well-seasoned details in the room, while softening some of the more industrial ones. An infusion of warm woods, dramatic velvet curtains, and plush wraparound booths set the tone and hopefully compliment the original brick walls and wood beam ceiling.”
The steakhouse features two grand floors, one with an open layout featuring a mix of two-tops, leather booths, and a grand piano as the centerpiece. The lower level is quieter and more intimate, with views of the outdoor fireplace and glass doors that open up to the restaurant’s outdoor patio in the warmer months.

While the seasons change, all-time favorites on Capri’s menu hold steady. The restaurant’s signature bread dish—Honey Buns—are a plate of warm pull-apart rolls shining in a honey butter glaze and served with a house made whipped ricotta. Homemade pastas at Capri are a crowd pleaser—especially the linguine alla vongole and rigatonis.
Steak and chops also make a bulk of the menu, with every craving satisfied— from juicy ribeye to a tender filet mignon. It’d be a crime not to order the brown butter sage mashed potatoes alongside your steak, plus a delicious supplemente like Capri’s Steak Pizzaiola or au jus.
Cap(ri) the night with a scoop of homemade gelato or sorbet; for a heartier dessert option try the Chocolate Hazelnut Mousse with Passionfruit cream. If you’re looking for one of Boston’s top new Italian steakhouses, inspired by the seaside charm of Capri, Italy, take a detour from the North End to the South End for food, flavor, service, and ambiance!
