Boston’s viral cake potluck now has a cookie-filled sequel—arriving on Boston Common this October.
Following the buzz of last year’s Cake on the Common, Flour Bakery is bringing another sugar-packed celebration to the city with Cookies on the Common. The event celebrates the release of Joanne Chang’s newest cookbook, “The Joy of Cookies,” and promises a similarly magical (and delicious) experience.
Flour Bakery shared the news online:
“We’re hosting Cookies on the Common on Sunday, October 18th to celebrate the release of Joanne’s newest cookbook, ‘The Joy of Cookies’ and we hope you can come! Can you imagine anything more joyful than piles and piles and piles of cookies on Boston Common, as far as the eye can see!? This will be a cookie potluck – a platter of your favorite cookies and a donation to No Kid Hungry are all that you’ll need to join in on the festivities.”
Bring cookies, taste countless more
Just like the beloved cake event, Cookies on the Common will follow a potluck-style format.
Guests who want to participate should bring a platter of their favorite homemade cookies. In return, you’ll get to sample a wide variety of cookies baked by fellow attendees—expect everything from classic chocolate chip to creative, bakery-worthy treats.
In the spirit of giving back, the event also encourages a donation to No Kid Hungry, supporting efforts to end child hunger across the U.S.
If last year’s cake celebration is any indication, this event will be equal parts community gathering, dessert showcase, and can’t-miss Boston food moment.
While full ticket details haven’t dropped yet, organizers note that space will be limited and spots are expected to fill quickly once registration opens later this summer on the Flour Bakery website.
