We asked Bostonians what they want to see happen in their city for 2023. Some wish for snow, and others wish for another World Series win. Find all of the answers below!
1. Improved public transit
Bostonians want to fix just about everything when it comes to the MBTA. From wishes for it to run smoothly on time, and safely, to hopes for 24-hour access to public transit, the MBTA is Bostonians priority for improving their city.
2. No more traffic
We can dream. And this might slowly become a reality with the addition of the southbound commuter rail and hopefully wish #1 coming true, we can expect to see more people carpooling and “trainpooling” which should in turn reduce traffic. But then again with Boston recently being ranked the 36th best city to live in the world everyone is trying to get their share of living here. Population growth rates have nearly doubled every year for the past five years.
3. Filled potholes
Commuting seems to be top of mind here in Boston. But we couldn’t agree more, where are all those tax dollars going!?
4. A great parking spot
Two words, Beacon Street. Of course, depending on where you need to be the parking in the city can be marvelous or make you develop a quick animosity towards one of the world’s greatest cities. But set your GPS to 1000 Beacon Street and find hundreds of parking spots adjacent to the Green Line.
5. More Dunkin
What’s new?
6. More BIPOC owned businesses
We love this! Make sure to check out our guide on some of our favorite Boston BIPOC owned businesses to support all year long!
7. Snow
It’s been a bit of a warm spell here for sure. Is January the new April?
8. Another World Series trophy
Red Sox, do your thing!
9. Peace
For the whole world, please!
10. Non-temperamental weather
It’s a blessing to experience the four seasons in a year. Not so much to experience them all in one day.
