Union Park Pizza, is recognized as one of Yelp’s top places to eat and drink in the New Year. The Back Bay pizza spot opened in 2018 as a South End brick and mortar before relocating to the bustling Newbury Street.
The pizza shop makes its dough and sauce fresh in-house daily.
Our dough is made with an imported Italian organic flour and our sauce is slow steeped and stirred in-house. It combines the flavors of local herbs and vegetables with the best organic tomatoes and wine imported from Italy, explains Union Park Pizza.
Popular pizza options include The Veggie Supreme-a combo of shrooms, red onion, green peppers, olives, and baby spinach; The Standard– your classic cheese pizza; and The Pesto Veg-a cherry tomato pie with artichoke hearts, red onions, kalamata, and nut-free pesto. And for bonus points, most of Union Park’s pizzas can be made gluten-free.
I’m not joking, friends, this was some of the best pizza I’ve had in a LONG time. The flavor combinations were unique and delicious, everything was super fresh, and the crust was perfectly balanced. The house salad was also super yummy, with lots of fresh toppings and a great blend of lettuce (not something you see every day with a pizza-joint salad!). Service was fast and super friendly, said Yelper Elite, Julia M.
Union Park Pizza is the only spot to make the list for Massachusetts, ranking 90 on the list of 100. However, two other New England spots made the list.
Southern comfort farm-to-table restaurant, Maple Soul, in Rochester, Vermont came in at number 46 on the list. The Vermont restaurant received praise for its homage to Vermont and eclectic menu merging South and Northeast. Shannon’s Unshelled in Boothbay, Maine, ranked at number 42. The seasonal lobster shack draws in tons of eager visitors patiently awaiting the annual spring reopening. Their lobster roll won the “Miss Maine Pageant” and, according to Yelpers, tastes as beautiful as it looks.
You can find Union Park Pizza for $3.50 slices, full pies, gluten-free pizzas, wings and more at 244 Newbury St. in Boston.
