On Monday, April 8, 2024, a 115-mile path rare total solar eclipse traveled from Canada, through New England, down through Texas and Mexico, and eventually to Cooks Island. Different from a partial eclipse, this total solar eclipse causes the skies to go completely dark in the path of totality as the moon completely obstructs the sunshine.
Parts of northern New England were blessed with totality and clear skies-the winning combo for a mesmerizing celestial event. Boston also had fairly clear skies and many witnessed the magic from View Boston, the Common, Seaport, and other corners of the city.
