Stowe, Vermont, just 3 hours shy of Boston, has a history of stealing the hearts of locals and tourists alike. Not too long ago, Stowe ranked as one of the top fall foliage destinations, ski destinations, and more recently as one of the world’s “23 Most Beautiful Small Towns” according to Travel + Leisure.
The 23 towns were listed in no particular order. The publication recognized Stowe as a place to enjoy every season:
Of the many beautiful small towns in the Green Mountain State, northern Vermont’s Stowe continues to wow with covered bridges, quintessential New England architecture, and stunning scenery that changes with each season. It’s a winter dreamworld with heaps of powder, frozen Bingham Falls, ski slopes, groomed cross-country skiing paths, and ice skating. In the warmer months, attention turns toward hiking trails and verdant mountain views in Smugglers’ Notch State Park.
Other US recipients include Whitefish, Montana and Lake Placid, New York (which is under a 5-hour drive from Boston).
We’re Stowe excited to have one of the most beautiful places in the world here in New England. The news comes shortly after two Massachusetts coastal towns ranked among the top 5 in America!
