Taiyaki NYC’s Japanese soufflé pancakes are back on offer and they look flipping amazing!
If you’ve been in Boston for a while you’ve probably heard about Seaport’s Taiyaki. The popular Manhattan-based store has become famous for topping its “taiyaki” cones with whimsical soft serve ice cream. But while we’re definitely fans of these tantalizing ice cream confections, we’ve been captivated once more by this store’s fluffy soufflé pancakes!
This jiggly stack of fluffy goodness is only available on the weekends at Tayaki’s location in Boston Seaport. The store opens every day at noon, and they will be flipping out pancakes for the first three hours of the day, so if you want to get your hands on some of these light, fluffy hotcakes make sure to head on out there first thing in the morning!
What makes Japanese soufflé pancakes so different from traditional buttermilk pancakes? Well, the simple ingredient is extra egg whites. These are whisked into a fluffy meringue that is then added into the mixture to give these soufflé pancakes their light, airy and thick consistency.
At Taiyaki, pancakes come with a small “taiyaki” and are topped with powdered sugar, butter, whipped cream, and either a green matcha cream or syrup.
If you’re a true fan of pancakes, Taiyaki Seaport also offers another gorgeous stack of Ube and Mochi pancakes. Served with powdered sugar, butter, whipped cream and ice cream, these are also available every Friday to Sunday from 12 to 3 p.m.!
