Nothing comforts the soul like a bowl of mac n’ cheese…
Except for maybe a whole menu worth of it! And with a year like the one we’ve had and a rather bumpy start to the new one, digging into a rich and creamy bowl of mac n’ cheese seems exactly the comfy reward we could all use. Thankfully, The Mac Bar, a ghost kitchen entirely dedicated to producing the cheesy comfort food, is here to help!
Located near Chinatown, The Mac Bar opened its doors back in November 2020 and it’s probably one of the best things to come out of 2020 in the city. Created by chef Sarah Wade, the kitchen focuses on delivering extra ooey-gooey bowls of the rich and creamy delight.
At The Mac Bar, you can build the mac n’cheese bowl of your dreams. Just choose your base (they have a classic mac option, Frank’s Red Hot Mac or Cholula Mac) and add your choice of topping; options include fried chicken, smoked bacon, smoked bacon, mushrooms, spinach, all the cheese you can dream of and more Oh and if you’re feeling extra peckish you can ask for a side of french fries, chips or salt and pepper tots!
If you rather not rack your brain while choosing, The Mac Bar also offers 10 incredible options including the classic bowl of Mac, a Steak and Bleu Mac, a Spicy Mac, a “Rachael” Mac with roasted turkey, caramelized onions, horseradish slaw, Swiss cheese, 1000 Island Dressing and rye crisps and many more.
The Mac Bar is currently open only for takeaway and delivery but you can order a creamy bowl of mac n’ cheese every day from 11 a.m. to 9:15 p.m. so you can enjoy this comfort food classic any time any day. Yum!
