Holiday lights, hot cocoa, and friendly company make the long and brutal Boston winters just a tad bit more bearable. Although an outdoor market, Snowport keeps us warm and fuzzy inside by turning Seaport essentially into a German winter market!
Snowport’s holiday hours begin on December 11, so the winter village is now open daily from 11 AM! It is double in size compared to prior years, giving us more excuses to keep going back so we have a chance to explore everything before it celebrates its last day on December 31. There are over 120 small businesses this year and 17 new and returning food and beverage vendors.

The Holiday Market will host 120+ small businesses from all over. According to a recent press release, 60% of the businesses are local and 71% are minority or female-owned. Some of the new vendor additions to jump for joy about include:
- Flavor forward sauces by Hillside Harvest
- Books created through Boston–based social enterprise More Than Words
- Wonderful pantry items from Mrs. Mekler’s Mercantile
- Curated goods from female designers, artists and makers at Wyllo
- Leather goods made in Norwood from Greylock
There will also be returning vendors that you might recall from last year:
- Whimsical watercolor and ink art pieces by Ashley Eisenman Art
- Upcycled and vintage apparel from The Drift Collective
- Top quality maple syrup from Maine by Crystal Rock Maple
- Organic cotton baby clothing by Simply Chickie
Your gifts will be much cooler than everyone else’s and you’ll encourage shopping small businesses. You can find the full list of vendors on the Snowport website.
In addition, there will be an expanded dining and entertainment area with enchanting lighting throughout that will get you in the festive spirits. Vendor specialties include pierogies, tacos, waffles, porchetta sandwiches, donuts, and much more to enjoy in the seated “après ski” themed dining tent. Stay warm with a round of outdoor iceless curling or other large-scale winter games.
You can also grab a hot cocoa or sit down for a warming meal in the 10,000-square-foot dining space. Stay cozy with traditional Swiss-style Raclette from Baked Cheese Haus or try the new pasta served in a giant cheese wheel from Cheese Wheel Pasta!
If that isn’t enough, now you understand why it will require many trips to take in all of this winter wonderland, market tradition ensues with a holiday tree lighting of a 50-foot-tall tree on December 1 at 5 PM. At 50-feet, it’ll be Boston’s largest holiday tree! There will also be a Menorah lighting on December 10 at 4 PM!
Visitors should also explore the 10-foot-tall mistletoe archway and a 25-foot-long interactive chalkboard to write down your hopes and dreams.
Throughout the duration of Snowport there will be plenty of fun themed events like an ice sculpture stroll, free gift wrapping during Small Business Weekend on November 24-25, a Menorah lighting, and a tree market.
‘Boston Harbor Now: NYE Waterfront Ice Sculpture Stroll’
‘Snowport’ is a winter wonderland for Bostonians. This year’s market will also return with the magical ice sculpture show and holiday stroll! On December 31 you can explore the harborside and enjoy some of the most intricate ice sculptures the city has ever seen. Stick around until midnight for the First Night fireworks over the inner Boston Harbor!
Other fun themed activities include photo ops with Snowport mascot Betty the Yeti, a tree market from November 17 through December 23, and iceless curling through February 2024!
