Imagine enjoying a delicious juicy burger in Fenway and in strides Lady Gaga with her entire production crew, excited to munch on some “chicken” sandwiches. Well if you visit the PlantPub in Boston’s Fenway or Cambridge’s Kendall Square, you just might be in for some delicious vegan food with a side of celebrity sightings.
PlantPub is the “world’s largest vegan sports bar” according to Vegan First, with over 250 seats and running 8,000 square feet in total. And before the “V” word scares you meat-eaters away, PlantPub is the real deal. You won’t have a hint of despair or longing for meat eating their proprietary vegan fare. PlantPub Boston’s menu has just about everything you’d find at a typical sports bar, in healthier options without sacrificing the flavor.
Their loaded nachos, pizza, pub fries, and burgers were washed down by Emmy-winning actress, Zendaya, and her family when they dined in March during a Boston filming for the young star, according to PlantPub. Oh, and Ben Stiller and his daughter, are also huge fans. He celebrated his daughter’s birthday at the Kendall Square PlantPub location in Canal District.
The concept of PlantPub is simple, all of your sports pub favorites, are made from 100% plants. It’s part of the green lifestyle that co-founders Mary Dumont, New England native and celebrity chef, and Pat McAuley, Boston native and triathlete, have been living for years. According to the founders, eating plants is “for their health, for the animals, and for the planet.”
