2024 has been a rather eventful year, to say the least, we’re looking forward to sending it off in style. Whether you want to celebrate New Year’s Eve in Boston at the historic First Night Boston, a spirited party, a relaxed sit-down concert, or outdoors at a fireworks show, we share our favorite plans to ring the new year! So grab your party hat and 2025 glitter glasses and celebrate the New Year in what 2024 deemed to be one of “America’s best large cities.”
1. 30+ Back Bay Ball at Westin Copley
The Back Bay Ball is Boston’s only 30+ NYE event, so if you fit the category and want to have a fabulously glamorous New Year’s Eve, this is the event for you. Hosted at the Westin Hotel’s Grand Ballroom, this ball will feature DJs, a delicious Tuscan dinner, and a silent auction to support The Ellie Fund!
2. Boston’s Best NYE Party Resolution Ball
Set the bar high for 2024 and start your New Year at a grandiose ball, complete with a full-course Tuscan dinner, dancing, and the most glamorous group of young Bostonians you can dream of! The Resolution Ball is Boston’s largest and longest-running New Year’s eve bash, and also its most glamorous, hosted in the prestigious Westin Hotel Grand Ballroom.
3. First Night Boston
Ring in a new year at Boston’s biggest New Year’s celebration! Back for its 44th annual celebration, First Night Boston is a fun, free, and family-friendly way to celebrate the new year with our city. The celebration will include hours of live entertainment, including live music, dancing, ice skating shows, and a parade. With dazzling ice sculptures and two firework shows, it’s a super spectacle you don’t want to miss!
4. Enjoy a lovely New Year’s Eve dinner party at one of our bucket list restaurants
Do we need another excuse to try a delicious restaurant? Not really. But celebrating the highs and acknowledging the lows of 2024 over a delicious bowl of pasta sounds like a great way to say goodbye to 2024 and hello 2025! 5. Awe at a dazzling immersive lights show
Enjoy a gobsmacking lights show, Genesis, with incredible projections and musical accompaniments. Take an indoor audio visual journey that’ll inspire you ahead of the New Year.
6. Admire the talent at Boston Harbor’s Waterfront Ice Sculpture Stroll
Wind your way down the Boston Harbor and admire the allure of 32 unique interactive ice sculptures this New Year’s Eve! Sit in an ice throne fit for a Queen or King! The sculptures are on display from 12 PM on December 31 until New Year’s Day at 12:30 AM.
7. Celebrate in style at the Mandarin Oriental
The Mandarin offers up several New Year’s Eve experiences at one of Back Bay’s most luxurious properties. Spoil yourself with their Festive Holiday Decorated Suites and stop downstairs for dinner at Ramsay’s. You’ll certainly start off 2025 on the right side of these extravagant hotel suite’s beds.
8. Catch four pianists “duel it out” at D’s Keys’ New Year’s Eve
D’s Keys, Seaports interactive Rock and Roll dueling piano show, is a hoot on New Year’s Eve! Four local pianists will battle it out on New Year’s Eve. Your only job is to sing along, May the best pianist win!
9. Jam with artists like Steve Aioki and San Gordo all week long
Big Night launched PLAY Boston, an all-new immersive experience at TD Garden and next to Big Night Live that blends entertainment, gaming, and dining! The lineup for New Year’s week is stellar:

10. Kick off 2025 on a tasty note with New Year’s Day brunch in Boston
It’s a holiday for many, so what better way to start the year than with a delicious brunch with people you love? Several Boston area restaurants are offering up special menus for January 1, 2025! Head to a favorite brunch spot for an incredible meal!
11. Attend the inaugural F1 Boston NYE bash
Zoom into 2025 with Boston’s F1 Arcade! Enjoy unlimited simulator racing, local DJs to carry the beat and an electric atmosphere. 12. Cozy up at High Street Place’s Après-Ski transformation
Get ready to hit the slopes at the city’s go-to food hall as it transforms into a festive ski lodge for NYE! Think alpine-inspired cocktails, delicious bites, lively entertainment and games, and plenty of cozy winter vibes to slide into 2025 in style. Guests are encouraged to dress in Après Ski Chic, neon pop, or sparkly glam or complement the ultimate winter vibe.
13. Ring in the New Year at Patriot Place
This year, the shopping, dining and entertainment destination is hosting its annual New Year’s Eve First Night Celebration, beginning at 4 PM. The festivities include ice skating, ice sculptures, live music, giveaways and, of course, a fantastic fireworks display at 7 PM! Patriot Place also encouraging visitors to spread the joy by bringing in a new or gently used coat or hat/glove set to donate to Cradles to Crayons, an organization dedicated to providing families in need with winter essentials.
14. Celebrate NYE at the New Bedford Whaling Museum
There’s two vibrant New Year’s celebrations planned for December 31st at the museum. At 5:15 to 7:15 PM, join them for a free, family-friendly party with the Toe Jam Puppet Band. Afterwards, their 21+ evening will bring delectable desserts, signature cocktails, lively African drumming, and a spectacular fireworks display over the New Bedford harbor to usher in 2025. The celebration will run from 8 to 10 PM.
