Tucked under 1 hour from Boston is a coastal gem just a quick drive or train ride from Boston. The town is heralded as a filming location for Little Women (2019), with its gorgeous strawberry fields, pristine beaches, and historic architecture.
Ipswich is a town incorporated almost four centuries ago, but its history long predates that. The town has a rich Agawam tribe history. In 1928, the sprawling Crane Estate, which now serves as one of Ipswich’s main attractions, was built—soon drawing the attention of locals and Hollywood alike!
Castle Hill on the Crane Estate served as the setting in Hollywood hits like Little Women and The Equalizer. The gorgeous estate is just steps from Crane Beach, known for its pristine, clear, flat waters.
