Following a successful Boston debut in Back Bay, All’antico Vinaio will open its second Boston location on Washington Street in Downtown Crossing.
This will be the second Boston location for the legendary sandwich shop from the founder and CEO, Tommaso Mazzanti, but the first location to open in the Downtown Boston neighborhood.
About All’antico Vinaio
The Mazzanti family opened All’antico Vinaio in 1991, starting with three locations in Florence that had tourists and locals alike flocking to enjoy the massive homemade sandwiches.
Since 2020, the family-operated sandwich rapidly scaled globally— opening its first Boston shop in 2025. All’antico Vinaio now operates over 50 shops worldwide, crafting a wide variety of sandwiches served on their legendary homemade fresh-baked Florentine schiacciata bread.
The world’s best sandwiches land in Boston
Saveur magazine crowned All’antico Vinaio “home of the world’s best sandwiches,” along with enthused Bostonians who were able to grab a taste of this famous sandwich shop for the first time last year.
It’s not unusual to find a long line trailing outside the sandwich shop in any of its over 50 destinations.
Proudly Italian in every bite
Not only is the bread homemade using an over 30-year-old family recipe, but the sandwich shop takes pride in using imported Italian ingredients, from Straciatella to burrata and more!
The philosophy of All’antico Vinaio is to ensure Italian authenticity and quality in every element of its sandwiches, creating something flavor with ingredients that speak volumes.
And portions that satiate tummies! The sandwiches are large enough to feed two and average $15. Select from All’antico Vinaio’s menu offerings or build-your-own perfect sandwich.
The second Boston location will open on Washington Street in Downtown Boston, adjacent to the Old South Meeting House. This conveniently places the sandwich shop just a half-mile from South Station and Boston Harbor.
Stay tuned for more updates on an exact opening date! For now, find All’antico Vinaio at 565 Boylston Street.
