The inaugural Wicked Haunt Fest launches its spooky setting this September. Boston’s Wicked Haunt Fest is the city’s first-ever large-scale Halloween festival. The two-acre haunted festival will feature over 300 spooky skeletons, 20-foot-tall props, and intricate set designs.
Spearheading the set design is industry veteran, Carl Rugato, whose credits include work with Marvel and Jurassic World live shows. Rugato’s work is also locally recognized, particularly for his elaborate Halloween displays at his Lynnfield home.
“With a variety of state-of-the-art theatrical elements, Wicked Haunt Fest is going to impress even the most discerning Halloween enthusiasts. From intricate set designs and professional scare actors to state-of-the-art animatronics and immersive lighting, every aspect of the spirited experiences have been crafted with the utmost care and attention to detail,” said the festival’s creative director, Carl Rugato. “Visitors can expect to be transported to a fully realized festive world. Wicked Haunt Fest is poised to redefine what a Halloween event can be, setting a new standard for immersive, high-production-value haunts in Boston and beyond.”
The heart of the scare is the festival’s three eerie Hollywood-caliber haunted houses. Enjoy a good spooking from 16-foot-tall towering animatronics and atmospheric scare actors at one of the three houses, each concealing a unique storyline:
- Harvest Awakening: a once thriving farm turned nightmare
- Rise of Annkh: archaeologists unleash a vengeful Pharaoh and his mummified servants
- Into the Ashtray: shadowy realm the living and supernatural coexist
If you prefer the sweet pumpkin spice life of spooky season, family-friendly non-scare activities will occupy the daylight hours of Wicked Haunt Fest. Stop by for festive bites from Boston’s best, pumpkin painting, face painting, mock trick-or-treating, and an immersive graveyard walk-through featuring over 150 themed tombstones and a real 1800’s hearse.
Tickets start from $25 and may be reserved online. Free parking is available on a first-come basis.
