Van Leeuwen opens its fifth and sixth Boston stores this week! The New York ice cream shop opened its first Massachusetts locations in Chestnut Hill and Seaport last year, and is now expanding to what will soon be six Boston-area scoop shops.
We’re so happy to continue growing in the Boston area and bring Van Leeuwen to the Back Bay and Fenway neighborhoods just in time for summer,” says Ben Van Leeuwen, CEO and co-founder, Van Leeuwen Ice Cream. “We look forward to becoming part of these two vibrant communities and continuing to bring Boston good ice cream, made with good ingredients, that makes you feel good.
The iconic ice cream shop began as a yellow scoop truck traveling the streets of NYC in 2008. The founders, Ben Van Leeuwen, Pete Van Leeuwen, and Laura O’Neill, developed a French-style ice cream (made with more than double the amount of egg yolks as standard ice cream) in unique and memorable flavors like Miso Cherry, Hidden Valley Ranch, and Kraft Mac and Cheese, while paying homage to their local neighborhood.
Now with over 60 nationwide scoop shops, each Van Leeuwen shop serves the delicious creamy ice cream, fresh-made signature waffle cones and bowls, creative toppings, and a rainbow pint fridge to get your favorite flavors to-go. Delicious summer flavors now scooping nationwide include a Sweet Corn Blueberry, refreshing Mango Sorbet, and tart and creamy Strawberry Yuzu Cheesecake!
