Opening this summer, Two Pence Market is the latest concept from restaurateur Dan Kerrigan and co-owner and culinary director, Brendan Joy. The duo operates the wood-fired pizza spot, Prairie Fire, in Coolidge Corner, in addition to their launchpad bakery and cafe, Steel & Rye, known for its homemade breads, pastries, innovative refreshments, and “Americana” energy.
Two Pence Market to open in Milton Village
The duo’s latest establishment, named Two Pence Market, is slated to open in summer 2026. The market will occupy the historic Bank of Boston located at 2 Eliot Street. The bank was first built in 1929, on the tail end of the Jazz Age, making it just shy of a century in age. The bank underwent renovations in 2000.
“Restoring this historic building with purpose was a priority for us,” noted Wild. “Two Pence honors Milton’s past while creating a welcoming space for residents and visitors alike to connect, shop, and meet throughout the day.”
The design team plans to preserve much of the history of the bank, keeping the original bank vault visible for market visitors to enjoy a side of history with their meals.
What’s on the menu
Executive Chef Alison Hearn brings an energetic passion to Two Pence Market. The charming eatery will offer a curated mix of house-made offerings, bagels, grain bowls, salads, smoothies, pastries, and more. Locally roasted coffees will make Two Pence Market Milton Village’s one-stop shop for brews, eats, and provisions.
“We wanted to create a space that feels like it’s always been a part of the neighborhood,” said co-owner Dan Kerrigan. “Whether you stop in for a quick coffee, a meal, or items for a dinner party, Two Pence is meant to add to the everyday rhythm of Milton.”
The market will also have a retail space offering farm-fresh produce and grab-and-go items plus a take-out window.
“With Two Pence, we’re focused on making and offering great food that really fits into people’s everyday lives,” said so-owner and culinary director Brendan Joy. “It’s ingredient-driven, but designed to be easier, more spontaneous and convenient.”
The market did not announce an exact opening date. Stay tuned for updates.
