This Tuesday, another storm is coming to Boston, after a week of snow, hail, squalls, rain, flooding, and 60-degree temps all within the same 168 hours.
Last Sunday, Bostonians witnessed the premiere snow of the year for Boston. It took some time for what was at first slush and rain to transform into gorgeous fluffy white snow that coated the city.
Boston’s total accumulation hovered around 3 inches from the first snow last weekend, and we’re expected to have a similar yet, more persistent snowstorm Tuesday, January 16. Other parts of the state, like Haverhill, had a whopping 1.5-feet of snow accumulation, and can expect heavier accumulation on Tuesday. The ski resorts and mountains are very happy about that!
This stormier system is making its way towards New England and expected to bring up to 3 inches potential snowfall in Boston, according to the National Weather Service. Local weather reports suspect 1-2 inches is more likely.
Just to add to the wintery mess, below-freezing temps after 10 PM leave a risk for black ice.
Tuesday’s storm is expected to begin around 7 AM and last until 7 PM on Tuesday night.
