Much of New England remains under a severe weather warning including a heat advisory in addition to an alarming tornado threat. A confirmed tornado hit Roxbury, New Hampshire on Thursday morning and the funnel took down trees, and caused damage to cars in Marlboro, New Hampshire.
Wires in Dublin and Marlboro also came down and have left many without power. A tornado forms when hot, humid air collides with cold, dry air. The rotating cold and heat of New England has created favorable conditions for tornados, which creates rising concerns for all of the states.
The tornado will be assessed further over the next few hours by the National Weather Service before it is given an official rating. The National Weather Service issued 2 tornado warnings for New Hampshire and Southern Maine.
Boston and the remainder of Massachusetts remains under a severe thunderstorm watch.
