A stunning new tea room and event space is underway at this local favorite in South End.
The South End Buttery, or as locals like to say, “The Buttery”, just debuted a stunning new tea room complete with antique china and a crystal chandelier. Dubbed Tea Room, the space just opened as an event space, which guests can book for special occasions like graduation parties, engagement parties, birthdays, and more. The team plans to introduce high tea and more, soon.
New tea room debuts at The Buttery

Tea Room will continue to evolve beyond solely serving as an event space.
The Director of Operations noted that Tea Room will soon offer a high tea service featuring The Buttery’s signature scones, served alongside fresh jams, clotted cream, finger sandwiches, bite-sized pastries, and more, on a tiered tower. Alongside, expect a pot of freshly-brewed tea.
This will be the only high tea offering in South End at the moment, and the space is fabulously decked out to transport you to the UK! The exact opening and introduction for the tea service is yet to be announced, but Tea Room is currently accepting private bookings to rent out the space.
Located on Shawmut Ave, Tea Room serves as an extension of South End Buttery’s main location. The buildout occupies the former Brick Street Bagels spot, which relocated to the South End Buttery Annex at 37 Clarendon Street.
