Boston has its fair share of cool bars, and beginning October 26, there’s a new must-visit spot for your next night out in Fort Point. Spin, a chain of ping-pong venues across the US, has recently opened a location in Boston at 30 Melcher Street, and it’s got all the entertainment, drinks, and food you could ask for.
Spin Boston features 14 Olympic-caliber ping pong tables, two private rooms which can be reserved, and a full bar and kitchen. The menu includes twists on local classics, like fluffernutter wontons and Boston cream pie. Cocktails are also Boston-themed, with one named after the T (which, contrary to expectations, looks delicious!). In general, it’s great food and drinks to be shared in a group of ping-ponging party-people. And considering that tables fit up to 10 people, you might as well invite a big group of people to have fun here!
Local artist Blind Fox contributed the fabulous pop art-inspired murals for the decor, and there’s even a ping-pong ball-filled bathtub that completes the zany, neon look. It remains to be tested whether or not we’re allowed to jump in, though.
You can reserve a private room or a table in advance on Spin’s website. During regular hours, tables go for $39 per hour. After 9 PM, the venue switches to 21+, so plan accordingly!
