SoWa Open Market brings together regional and local vendors, artists, farmers, and food trucks along Harrison Avenue and the pedestrian-only stretch near Thayer Street. It’s one of the city’s best warm-weather traditions, pairing shopping, snacking, and wandering in one easy Sunday outing.
The market first began in 2003, with some changes and evolutions over the years. However it’s always been a Sunday favorite in Boston’s South End. We can enjoy SoWa all season long. Here’s a closer look at what’s on offer this season.
SoWa Open Market returns this May
SoWa is one of Boston’s largest outdoor markets, and the winter holiday version is the largest indoor market in New England. So expect over 250 rotating vendors—giving you the perfect excuse to return every weekend.
The market only runs one day a week, beginning Sunday, May 3, and continuing through Sunday, November 15. It’s a fun way to discover new and old local vendors while making friends, gathering in-season produce, and enjoying the sunshine (on a good day).
The outdoor market takes place rain or shine, and here’s a sneak peak of who’s popping up this season.
This year’s lineup
This year’s market features 250+ vendors (view the full list here), plus food and beverage trucks, artists, farmers, and local makers. The rotating Sunday food truck lineup keeps things fresh, with five trucks on site each week.
Some of the names on this year’s lineup include:
- 10Cha Matcha House
- 617 Images
- Aquidneck Honey
- Cloud Crunch
- Lifebloom
- Lifehaus Wellness
- and many, many more!
