Hailing from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Raising Cane’s celebrates its golden birthday with an entirely golden store. This is the first of its kind for the behemoth fried chicken chain which boasts over 800 locations nationwide.
Raising Cane’s first opened on August 28, 1996. The golden store celebrates 28 years of Raising Cane’s in a city with dedicated fans. Cane’s opened its first Boston location in 2009, taking the place of an old McDonald’s on the west side of the Boston University campus. The BU location was an instant hit with students, especially on game nights when Cane’s would offer free meals when the BU hockey team was victorious.
The new golden store marks the fifth Massachusetts location and is the only Raising Cane’s store of its kind. It’s completely decked out in gold, an ode to the golden era of Cane’s and the city of champions. The store celebrated its grand opening with Olympic gold medalists and sports legends of Boston.
The new location serves all of the Cane’s classics, and doesn’t have edible gold, but is certainly an experience to dine in. Raising Cane’s plans to open four more Massachusetts locations in the next six months.
