Apparently, we’re not just seafood snobs. We’re good at pizza too—and that’s coming from an Italy-based critical review of the globe’s best pizzerias.
50 Top Pizza released its annual list of the best pizzerias in the world. The guides are divided by continent or region, with a USA guide to the 50 best pizzerias in the nation. Two local establishments made the list, even advancing in ranking from prior years.
Posto ranks among top 40 pizzerias in USA

Posto, which made the list in prior years, advanced over 10 spots, from number 47 to number 36 on the list of 50 top pizzerias in the USA. Serving the area for over a decade, Posto opened at the union of Davis and Porter Squares on Elm Street before moving its Somerville location to Assembly Row.
Just this December, Posto opened its second location, and first for Boston, on Washington Street in South End. Posto serves a variety of Neapolitan pizzas with homemade mozzarella among other fixings, and is part of Boston’s Alpine Restaurant Group, which also operates four Painted Burro locations across Somerville, Cambridge, Brookline, and Waltham.
Si Cara also named among top pizzerias in USA

Also on the list is another local establishment born across the river. Si Cara ranked at number 49 among the top 50 pizzerias in the USA. The Central Square born pizza spot announced a second location in South Boston, slated to open at 400 West Broadway in the New Year. Si Cara pizzabar draws inspiration from Chef Michael Lombardi’s Italian upbringing which involved plenty of cooking with his Nonna.
Si Cara serves a canotto-style pizza which features a thin core and bubbly puffy outer ring crust. It’s airy and delicious.
