Boston is well-known for its extensive art museums and collections, but there’s a new kind of art exhibition in town recently. Pellas Gallery on Newbury Street is opening the first-ever NFT art exhibition, entitled “New Horizons,” on February 24.
In collaboration with Metaversal, New Horizons is produced by David Paredes and curated by 3D animator NessGraphics. It will feature art from Ness himself; Annibale Siconolfli, a landscape digital artist from Italy; Sam Clover (Planttdaddii), a digital sculptor from Seattle, and many more digital creators. In terms of artistic styles, it’s a grab-bag of futurism, dystopia, and surreal world-building all in one show.
If you haven’t heard of NFTs (or fully grasped what they are yet — you’re not alone!), they stand for non-fungible tokens. Essentially, they’re a one-of-a-kind digital creation bought with cryptocurrency, and they’re certainly shaking up the art world along with finance world.
New Horizons opens on February 24, 2022 and will run until April 23, 2022. Check out Pellas’ website and Instagram for more details.
