These aren’t your mother’s cutlets, except they are.
My Mother’s Cutlets, the new fast-casual cutlet bar just opened in Boston’s North End! The spot celebrates and centers on a classic comfort dish with a modern build-your-own cutlets model.
The star of the menu at My Mother’s Cutlets is a classic chicken cutlet with a sacred family recipe. Guests are welcome to pick from the curated menu of cutlets or build their own cutlet sandwich. Menu highlights include:
- My Mother’s Special: cutlet, burrata, vodka sauce
- The Cutlet: cutlet, American cheese, salt and pepper
- Act Like You Don’t Know: classic Parm made with Mom’s sauce
The build-your-own cutlet offering allows you to pick a base, cutlet, sauce, dressing, cheese and add-ons. Gluten free and vegetarian options are available as well, and in lieu of a seeded roll or wrap, the cutlets may also be orders on Ro’s Tomato Salad or a classic salad.
The menu is designed to be nostalgic, neighborhood-driven, and fresh. Every cutlet is hand-breaded. All sandwiches come served with My Mother’s Chips.
This is comfort food with character,” said Nick Varano, owner of The Varano Group. “My Mother’s Cutlets is about honoring tradition, but keeping it fun and fast. It’s something new for the neighborhood, but it feels like it’s always been here.
The Varano Group is behind timeless Italian restaurants in Boston like Strega and Nico Restaurant.
