6 to be exact. Whether we are winning or losing, Patriots fans are ride or die. This is why we weren’t surprised to learn that the most loyal NFL fans belong to the New England Patriots, a new study reveals.
A survey of 300,000 NFL fans determined a baseline passion for the average NFL fan. Those numbers were further segmented by team and Patriots fans were determined to be 11.17% more passionate about their team when compared to other NFL fans, according to recent findings.
NFL fans are some of the most devoted sports fans. Over 17 million people tune in to the games each year. The most passionate fans of all the NFL franchises are:
- New England Patriots: 11.17 % more passionate
- New York Giants: 6.87%
- Miami Dolphins: 3.55%
- Green Bay Packers: 3.45%
- Philadelphia Eagles: 3.18%
The passion of Patriots fans is well justified given their tie with the Steelers as the NFL team with the most Super Bowl wins in history- all stemming from the Brady-Belichick era. Brady’s 20 seasons with the Patriots meant so much that he is planning to sign a one-day contract to retire as one. That period earned the Pats their 6 Super Bowl wins out of 9 total Super Bowl appearances.
The least passionate fans turned out to be Minnesota Vikings fans. Their support is 11% lower than the average NFL fan, with no Super Bowl wins and freezing temperatures at home games, the score makes sense.
