Mindful Recovery is a one-stop-shop for full body restoration and repair. Whether you’re a D1 athlete or a working professional who sits behind a desk 9+ hours a day, their mission is to offer a safe space where you can carve out time for some “mindful recovery.”
The recovery comes in the form of five holistic therapies proven to help joint and muscle pain and recovery, in addition to a slurry of other health benefits. These include improved digestion, mental clarity, enhanced memory, mood, concentration, reduced bloating, improved circulation, reduced symptoms of autoimmune disease, and weight loss to name a few.
R&R at Mindful Recovery
Escape the hustle and bustle of the city for a pampering, slow day at this wellness center set in the quaint New England town of Holliston. Holliston neighbors Hopkinton, the start of the Boston Marathon, and Ashland, home to some of the state’s best ramen noodles! A comforting treat after a day of recovery.
Infrared Sauna
The most popular service at Mindful Recovery is its infrared sauna, and we can understand why! The property boasts two full-size private saunas with plenty of customization for your perfect spa day! Adjust the sauna lights to match your mood, connect your Bluetooth to play DJ, and even set the temperature as needed.
Sauna sessions last from 30 to 60 minutes depending on your tolerance and what you book. The infrared sauna has been shown to penetrate the skin easily to improve circulation and rid the body of toxins.
Cryotherapy
Pioneered by “the ice man,” Wim Hoff, cryotherapy is all the rage these days yet still hard to find. However, cryotherapy, which literally means “cold therapy,” dates back to 400 BC. The modern version of cryotherapy involves stepping into a chamber at minus 250 degrees Fahrenheit for 1-3 minutes. The temperature “shocks” your body into fight or flight and forces detoxification and rejuvenation, all while burning up to 600 calories in 3 minutes.
The cold air is different than an ice bath and actually “easier” according to many, especially when done post-sauna. After all that warming up it can be refreshing to hop in the cryo chamber for a few minutes. That’s why Mindful Recovery offers a sauna+cryo bundle! It’s like the Finnish practice of post-sauna lake jumping!
Compression via Hyperice
Another way to target achy muscles and detoxification is with Normatec compression boots by Hyperice. You might have seen these funky looking boots on some of your favorite athletes. They essentially squeeze your legs in sequenced patterns, pushing waste out of your body via lymphatic drainage while simultaneously massaging sore muscles.
If you love a massage, Mindful Recovery also offers complimentary machine foot massages in their lounge. Other Hyperice products for knees, shoulders, and back will be added to the recovery room.
Light therapy
Red light therapy can improve skin tone and texture, reduce scarring, stimulate the immune system, aid pain management, and more! A large red light panel is used to tackle concerns ranging from the epidermis to deeper organ repair.
Acupuncture & dry cupping
The holistic wellness service dating back to 2500 bce China will be a new service at Mindful Recovery beginning this month! Dry cupping will also be introduced!
Mindful Recovery is a women-owned business founded by Mikayla Byrne in 2019. The alternative therapy “zen zone” wellness destination is now owned by Jessica Weintraub and Krissy Banks. Learn more and reserve your visit.
