Only a handful of global hotels earn a Michelin Key. Known for their trusted restaurant guides and prestigious Michelin Stars awarded to only the world’s best restaurants, Michelin introduced a new symbol to the hospitality industry—the key.
Now in its third series, 30 New England hotels earned at least one Michlin Key—with many returning from the inaugural awards in 2024 and the succeeding year, with sill five less hotels when compared to last year.
The news is less than a year after Boston received its first-ever Michelin Guide. Michelin highlighted 26 restaurants on the guide with only one, 311 Omakase in South End, earning a star.
The hotels follow the same structure, with many making it on the Michelin Guide, but only few earning one or two Michelin Keys.
Michelin Key hotels in New England
From a gray shingle retreat on Nantucket, to a doctor’s home turned charming inn on the sister island of Martha’s Vineyard, to The Newbury in our own backyard, here are all of the hotels across all six NEw England states that earned or retained a Michelin Key in 2026:
One Key (🗝️) denotes “a very special stay” according to the Michelin Guide, and Two Keys (🗝️🗝️) denotes an “exceptional stay.”
