WalletHub assessed all 50 states, ranking them across 5 key branches, with sub roots that were then tallied for an average score. Each category holds a different weight and the state with the highest overall scores across all 5 branches came out on top, Massachusetts. Not far behind Mass. is New Hampshire ranking number 7 (down from 3 in 2023), Maine number 13 (up from 14), Vermont number 21 (down from 19), Connecticut number 24 (down from 22), and Rhode Island number 25 (up from 28).
