Mashpee, Massachusetts is one of the lesser known but equally stunning Cape towns. It neighbors well known towns such as Falmouth and Barnstable on Cape Cod.
USA Today recently ranked Mashpee as one of the “top 10 most enchanting small towns in the Northeast” this year. Mashpee ranked in the top five towns, making it one of the best small towns to visit in the Northeast!
The accolade comes from over 200,000 USA Today readers who partake in the 10Best rankings. First the initial nominees are determined by a board of seasoned travel editors. Then USA Today readers select the final winners from a pool of 20 nominees.
Since this list focuses on small towns, populations in all the nominated towns must be below 25,000. Mashpee was awarded the number 4 spot on the list:
In the New England town of Mashpee, Massachusetts, you’ll find the scenic Mashpee River Reservation with its many walking trails, as well as four of the largest freshwater ponds on Cape Cod.
