Bostonians asked for it and the Emerald Necklace Conservancy delivered!
Earlier in February, the Emerald Necklace Conservancy announced it would be lighting up several of its bridges in a bright green hue to celebrate Boston’s iconic chain of parks. Now back by popular demand, the Conservancy will be extending “Lights in the Necklace” through Wednesday, March 31!
“Our winters are already long, and this winter especially we need light, hope and safe opportunities and destinations to continue to enjoy the outdoors with limited daylight,” said Emerald Necklace Conservancy President Karen Mauney-Brodek in a release earlier in the year. “We hope this limited-time installation will do just that – give folks an excuse and a reason for an enjoyable outing after hours.”
“Lights in the Necklace” started back on February 13 and will last all throughout March, which means we’ll still have plenty of green to go around for St. Patrick’s Day despite the parade and most festivities being canceled!
“We hope you’ll continue to enjoy the emerald glow through St. Patrick’s Day and the spring equinox,” said the conservancy on a social mediapost.
