A celebrated London steakhouse is bringing its high-heat cooking and British hospitality to Boston’s Fort Point neighborhood. Hawksmoor Boston will serve lunch and dinner in a 280-seat restaurant overlooking the Fort Point Channel. The Boston location marks the first local restaurant for the group founded in London in 2006 and introduces New England diners to its charcoal-grilled steaks, seafood-forward dishes and lavish British Sunday roast.
Charcoal steaks meet New England seafood
At Hawksmoor, the focus begins with steak. The restaurant sources beef from Châtel Farms in Georgia and Grass Run Farms in the Upper Midwest, seasons it with Maldon sea salt and cooks it over red and white oak charcoal made in Virginia. Diners can order individual cuts such as ribeye and grass-fed fillet, or share dry-aged selections including a Porterhouse and Long Bone Rib Chop, served in cast-iron skillets.
The menu will also give Boston seafood a major role. Local Edgewater Petits and South Bay Blondes oysters, Georges Bank scallops and Maine lobster are among the offerings. New dishes developed for Boston include a Lobster Crumpet and more. Thomas Park, whose previous roles include Saltie Girl and Uchi Austin, will lead the kitchen.
A British roast arrives in Fort Point
On Sundays, Hawksmoor will serve its signature Sunday Roast, a traditional British meal built around slow-cooked dry-aged roast beef, Yorkshire puddings, roast potatoes, carrots, greens and bone marrow-onion gravy.
Dessert adds a distinctly Boston touch. Executive Pastry Chef Carla Henriques’ lineup includes Sticky Toffee Pudding, Grand Rocher, a Fluffernutter Sundae and Sky Bar Tributes inspired by the candy bar once produced at the nearby NECCO factory.
The restaurant’s interior pairs dark blue and green paneling with leather and velvet seating, wood-and-brass tables, and an outdoor terrace. Two private dining rooms—Lobster and The Duchess of Boston—will be available for celebrations and company dinners. Hawksmoor’s arrival gives Fort Point a new destination for special-occasion meals, weekend roasts and seafood with a British point of view.
