It’s been a Barbie era from the movie to the recently announced musical, which will be skipping Boston by the way. Fret not, however as Boston still has a glamorously chic and sporty Barbie wave that will literally turn the city pink.
Dubbed the “Boston Barbiettes,” this up and coming baseball team will host wildly extravagant baseball games at Fenway Park for one month only. To promote their show, Fenway Park is getting one grand pink makeover ahead of the season opener against the Washington Orioles on April 9!
The Barbiettes’ first game takes place about one month later, right after Mother’s Day! And they don’t only do sports, the new team was inspired by the famous Savannah Bananas. The bananas, who came through New England on their all-American tour last year don’t just play baseball, but instead a super energetic game they call Banana Ball games!
This kind of baseball involves dancing, singing, props, videomaking, outfit transitions and so much more. Talk about a score!
This gorilla marketing tactic will require about 2,000 gallons of paint notes Stacey Walker, president of the Boston Barbiettes. The team is made up of women aged 18 all the way to 79, including former professional softball player, Edwina Batsome. Make sure to swing over to Fenway this May to catch the Boston Barbiettes!
