Hollywood mogul, Larry David, loved this New England-born taqueria’s food so much, he returned approximately seven times while on Martha’s Vineyard. El Barco’s since traveled across the Atlantic to open its first Boston location in Back Bay!
The vibey taco spot with fresh Mexican food, string lights, whimsical decor, and a live DJ is set on Dalton Street in Boston, but feels akin to a tropical getaway in the city. Servers wear Hawaiian print button-down shirts while the back-of-house slings out delicious, juicy tacos.
Whether you’re craving shrimp, steak, chicken, or a vegetarian chomp, El Barco’s menu is made for everybody. Fan-favorites include the fresh handmade guac and chips to start. Don’t skip the delicious seared shrimp burrito and shrimp tacos. The birria tacos come with a fragrant consommé that is so good, we’ll take it in a 12 oz glass.
The food comes perfectly seasoned at El Barco, but it wouldn’t be Mexican soul food without getting a little saucy! El Barco’s salsa bar contains a fleet of five salsas, all made in house using fresh produce and ranging from mild to wicked hot!
