Just a 3-hour drive from Western Massachusetts, and about 4.5 hours from Boston is the quaint town of Lake Placid. The Upstate New York village is heralded as “one of the most beautiful in the world.” The fresh boutique property, Eastwind Lake Placid is centrally located in the Northern Adirondacks, offering a serene escape for nature enthusiasts year-round!
Unwind at Eastwind Lake Placid
Lake Placid is one of the three Eastwind Hotels properties, with other locations Oliverea Valley and Windham, both in the Catskills of upstate New York. Eastwind is a new hotel group founded by three friends, Bjorn Boyer, Julija Stoliarova and Dan Cipriani in 2018, with a mission to create a cozy space to relax after a day well spent in nature, whether that’s hiking, skiing, or admiring the changing leaves in fall.
The group channels a hygge-design in each property, a term synonymous with supreme coziness in Danish culture. Further layering on the Scandi-inspiration, Eastwind Lake Placid offers 29 designer-curated accommodations with intentionally-sourced Mid Century Scandinavian vintage furnishings throughout.
The blend of coziness and untouched nature earned the boutique hotel a spot on the prestigious Michelin Guide for the best hotels in the Adirondacks.
While the rooms are designed to feel like a warm hug, making them difficult to leave, the property amenities are something to travel for. Relax in a wood barrel sauna before making a splash in the new 8-foot-deep pool with views of the Adirondacks. Celebrate a day well spent in nature at Dandelion, Eastwind’s “forage to fork” restaurant connecting all three boutique properties or the onsite, Bubbly & Company for light fare.
Things to do in the village of Lake Placid
This summer, the boutique hotel is celebrating with a brand-new Cliffside Coaster in town! The open-air mountain coaster allows you to take in the natural beauty while cruising at a speed of your choice. It also happens to be the longest open-air rollercoaster in America, following the alignment of the bobsled track used during the 1932 and 1980 Winter Olympics.
The village of Lake Placid features gorgeous rolling mountains and nature preserves. The newly opened Adirondack Rail Trail, a 34-mile excursion along a former rail corridor offers a scenic trail between Lake Placid and Tupper Lake. In the summer months, visitors can take advantage of rollerblading opportunities along the trail!
Go to new heights to get an aerial view of the charming village on Whiteface Mountain Ski Resort’s Cloud Splitter Gondolas, which operate year-round.
Eastwind Lake Placid just introduced four new room categories to its property making it the perfect escape for solo nature enthusiasts, or groups of any size! There are 21 rooms and 8 freestanding cabins. Learn more about Eastwind Lake Placid’s offerings and reserve your escape here!
