Named after its now almost 90-year-old founder, Mr. Romero, Casa Romero is a historic Boston Mexican restaurant. The 52-year-old Mexican restaurant is the longest continually running in the Northeast for Mexican cuisine. It’s also a popular date night spot among Bostonians due to its sequestered location at the intersection of Back Bay’s Gloucester Street and a hidden alley.
The tucked away food spot might be hidden, but the flavor is loud and bold. The “In Casa” menu includes an expansive list of classic Mexican fare.
Quesadilla Huitlacoche is a sauteed mushroom wrapped in a spinach tortilla. They also offer various tacos, fajitas made with chicken, shrimp, steak, or veggies, and enchiladas to your preference.
Casa Romero’s “signature plates” menu includes an award-winning dish, Solomillo de Patricia Quintana Mar Y Tierra. This translates from Spanish to “Patricia Quintana’s sirloin steak surf and turf.” Ordering this plate, you’re served a “filet mignon cooked to perfection with a chipotle sauce, melted cheese, and topped with two jumbo shrimp.”
Churros offer a sweet treat to end the meal on date night or any other night.
