We’ve tasted many guacs in our time, and while this food isn’t native to Boston, Rosa Mexicano might just make the best guacamole we’ve ever had! You’ll think you’ve been served fresh guacamole on the beaches of Cancun with avocados picked ripe right off of the tree.
That’s nearly what you get at Seaport’s Rosa Mexicano restaurant. Located on the bustling Seaport Boulevard, Rosa Mexicano in Boston is the perfect way to get transported to Mexico without the plane ticket. We will warn you though, once you taste their guacamole, it will ruin all other guacamole for you.
At Rosa Mexicano, staff roll out a tray of fresh, ripe avocados, cilantro, red onion, lime, and a proprietary spice blend all used to make their famous guac. The ripe avocado is freshly opened, then hand smashed to the perfect texture in a traditional stone pester and mortar, herbs, spices, and veggies dance in the mix, and voila–there you have your own personally made fresh guac created right in front of your eyes! Adding more freshness to the menu, the guac comes alongside freshly made salted tortilla chips! Tableside guac is the way they’ve done it since 1984, according to the Rosa Mexicano website.
What else you’ll find at Rosa Mexicano Boston
Rosa Mexicano serves up an extensive menu of traditional Mexican favorites and some innovative renditions. Try the fresh tuna ceviche for starters and make sure to get a parrilladas for the table. The parrilladas plate features an assortment of grilled proteins, including tender steak, juicy adobe chicken thigh, and zesty jumbo shrimp. They serve it on a sizzling hot cast iron platter accompanied with Rosa’s freshly-made corn tortillas, more guac(yay!), roasted onions, frijoles borrachos, cheese-stuffed jalapeños, charred tomato salsa, and pico de Gallo!
Following, cap the meal with their enormous, yet surprisingly light take on Tres Leches, which is a three-milk cake. The 6-inch sponge cake is light and fluffy yet super moist from the creamy sweet milk mixture. Deliciously, the cake’s fresh strawberry jam and salty coconut whipped cream balance the overall sweetness.
Rosa Mexicano hosts fun events all week long like the weekly BOGO Taco Tuesday special in which all dinner tacos are 50%. Rosa Mexicano has two locations in Massachusetts for when you need your Mexican fix for brunch, lunch, or dinner.
