Bridgerton is a Netflix show set in 1813 London. Filming locations of the show, now in its third season, include various towns and cities across the United Kingdom.
From Bath and Bristol to York and modern-day London, the show is as royal and regal as it becometh. But with Englanders building New England, there’s quite a dashing resemblance between parts of Boston and the images presented on the screen.
New England’s been a hotspot for Hollywood, with several sets filming locally to take advantage of the tax break. The Gilded Age, an American drama set in 1870, has a similar aesthetic to Bridgerton and films right at the Newport mansions!
Bridgerton, set in the Regency Era, magnifies a time in British history that from 1795 through 1837. Fashion included babydoll maxi dresses with square necks and puff sleeves for women. Men often sported fitted tailcoats, slim trousers tucked into knee-high boots, and opulent shirt points and cravats. Georgian influence inspired Regency Era architecture.

Citizens Bank Opera House
The Boston Ballet is where Bostonians go all out. Performers and attendees alike will dress in a way that’ll make you feel like you just entered a royal ball. Plus, the ornate gold details, massive chandelier, elegant staircase and decorative carpeting are reminiscent of those in the show.
Boston Public Library Tea Room
Pinkies up! This hidden afternoon tea inside the Boston Public Library feels just as old-school and regal as a Bridgerton teatime.
Evoke Tintype
Based on a popular 1850s photography method, Evoke Tintype is the perfect spot to capture memories in an old-school format. While Bridgerton is all color, and portraits were the go-to image of that time, Evoke encourages guests to dress up for whatever mood or decade they’re trying to capture.
Newport Mansions
Not in Boston, but worth the trip for real Bridgerton fans. These ornate lavish mansions take you centuries back and you’ll find trinkets throughout each mansion as well as lavish grounds similar to those in Bridgerton. You can also visit the Gilded Age mansions in the Berkshires for a similar feel, albeit a different time period.
