From several Menorah lightings to a “Jewish Christmas” hosted at Mamaleh’s, there’s plenty of fun for the eight nights of Hanukkah in Boston. Grab a classic sufganiyot or try something new like the LED Spectacular in the South End for a joyous Hanukkah in Boston!
1. 39th Annual Boston Common Menorah Lighting
Join Governor-Elect Maura Healey, Boston Council President Ed Flynn, and more as they light up one of New England’s tallest Menorahs standing at 22 feet! There will be live music and celebration as one of the nine bulbs is lit on Sunday evening to celebrate the beginning of Hanukkah!

2. Macabee Pop-up
Boston’s premiere Hanukkah pop-up returned earlier this month and will continue to serve up delicious Hanukkah classics like sufganiyot, courtesy of Lionheart Confections and latkes through the end of the holiday! Find them in Somerville at Backbar or Harvard Square at Noir!

Celebrate Hanukkah in the South End with live music, Hanukkah treats, prizes and so much more! The outdoor celebration commences with the lighting of a 9-foot tall Menorah followed by an “LED Spectacular” light show! This lights show is so bright, it might just be visible from space.

4. Seaport Menorah Lighting
Following Seaport’s recent holiday tree lighting, the hip neighborhood celebrates Hanukkah with a giant Menorah lighting with Governor Charlie Baker as a guest of honor! There will also be live music, Hanukkah treats, and fun outdoor activities.
Thursday, December 22 at 6 PM at 60 Seaport Blvd.
5. Party it up with Mamaleh’s
The Jewish deli will host two special Hanukkah parties at their Kendall Square location including a “Hanukkah Fry Party!” and “Jewish Christmas.” The sample menus for these festivities sound divine with items like Latkes with caviar, Fried Stuffed Matzah Ball, Chocolate Olive Oil Cake with saucy fruit and fried kataifi for the Fry Party and a Jewish spin on Chinese food with Cumin Latkes, Veggie Egg Rolls with Hoisin Russian, Brisket Bao and Mei Mei Pierogi Dumplings!
