Fares and Summer Sundays
Ticket prices vary depending on where you board, ranging from $8 to $40 for round-trip travel. Riders can purchase tickets through the MBTA mTicket app, at South Station, or on board. Frequent travelers can also take advantage of the SummerRide pass, which offers 10 rides for the price of 8.
This year, there’s an extra incentive to ride: deeply discounted “Super Summer Sundays.” On select Sundays in July, August, and September, round-trip tickets between Boston and Hyannis will be just $20—half off the usual $40 fare. That breaks down to only $10 each way for one of the most scenic trips in Massachusetts.
For those looking to turn a day trip into a full getaway, popular stays include Chatham Bars Inn, Red Jacket Beach Resort, AutoCamp Cape Cod, and island escapes like The Brant on Nantucket.
