The Boston Bruins are going back in time with their new jerseys—on purpose. With the help of Back to the Future star Michael J. Fox, the team officially unveiled their 2025–26 home and road uniforms, and they’re dripping in retro nostalgia with a modern twist.
The new jerseys revive classic design elements from the 1980s and 90s, combining them with updated branding, striping, and detailing, all created in partnership with Fanatics and the NHL. This marks the Bruins’ first full uniform overhaul since their centennial season and signals a new chapter in franchise style.
Bruins embrace tradition with new jerseys
The black home jersey features a gold “B” inside a yellow circle with black spokes, while the white road jersey reverses the scheme with a black “B” and gold spokes. Both include a new shoulder patch with a silhouette bear, inspired by the team’s original 1924 logo. Other updates include:
- 🧈 Gold striping on gloves
- 🧦 Modernized sock and sleeve patterns
- 👖 New serifed wordmarks on pants
- 𝓑 “BOSTON” stitched inside the home jersey hem, “BRUINS” inside the road
This design also reintroduces the two-logo system, a tradition the team last used in 1995, the final year of the original Boston Garden.
Michael J. Fox and the time-travel reveal
The reveal campaign featured a playful nod to time travel, starring Michael J. Fox, who appeared in a teaser video with the caption: “A look Back. With an eye to the Future”.
The marketing move connected generations of Bruins fans—from those who cheered for Ray Bourque to today’s Pastrnak faithful.
What it means for Bruins fans
While some fans may miss the gold socks or the 2011-era minimalism, this update is all about reconnecting with Boston’s identity while stepping confidently into a new era.
After missing the playoffs last season for the first time in nearly a decade, the Bruins are clearly ready for a reset, on and off the ice.
The new look will debut in preseason action this September at TD Garden.
