The difference between your rose stem and a fresh Boston Baked Blossoms cupcake is nearly imperceptible. The pandemic-born artisanal floral cupcake bakery, Boston Baked Blossoms, is the brainchild of culinary artist and Dorchester native, Lisa Mackin.
This woman-owned business is a solo act, as Mackin churns out hundreds of cupcakes each week for hungry foodies with a petal passion. And while Boston Baked Blossoms is a local business, these sweets have sprinkled their pollens statewide with adoring fans reaching as far as New Jersey.
Mackin currently operates out of a licensed kitchen in South Boston, with the goal to “satisfy the eyes and the stomach.” Every petal is hand piped, paralleling the skills Mackin acquired after years as a professional designer and fine artist. It’s no surprise why these cupcakes are so realistic!
What’s blooming at Boston Baked Blossoms?
Naturally, Boston Baked Blossoms cupcakes are sold as “individually packed” single stems for $11 each, available for event bookings only, or as a bouquet ranging from a 7 piece ($80) to a double dozen 24-piece bouquet ($258), all the way up to a 37-piece bouquet ($399). The gorgeous bouquets are made to order, so you can leave the creative direction up to Lisa or provide some input on what flowers and colors you’d like to build your own bouquet.
All cupcakes are made with an elegant buttercream frosting using quality ingredients and are available for curbside pickup in South Boston, doorstep delivery within a 35-mile radius of Southie, in addition to extended delivery for events like weddings, birthdays, and more!
