On January 10, Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez were spotted at a Medford, MA Dunkin Donuts filming what was suspected to be a Super Bowl commercial. Speculations proved correct, and Dunkin’s first-ever Super Bowl commercial starred the Cambridge native and self-proclaimed “Dunkins fanatic” as a drive-thru window executive.
The people seen in this commercial are actual customers picking up their regular Dunks, surprised to find no other than Ben Affleck at the pick-up window. The commercial was filmed at Dunkin locations in Medford and Revere and made its debut at the Super Bowl last night.
Affleck and Jlo visited multiple Dunkin locations to film the video campaign directed by Affleck himself. Although a Californian, the Cambridge native holds a special place for Dunks in his heart and has completed several partnerships with the coffee chain over the years.
And a Dunkin’s commercial wasn’t the only thing Affleck directed recently. He and Boston native, Matt Damon released the official trailer of their highly-anticipated film Air based on the true story of Nike’s partnership with then rookie ball player, Michael Jordan. Childhood friends, Affleck and Damon both pursued their love of film from a young age. They notoriously took home the 1997 Oscar for Best Original Screenplay when they co-wrote Good Will Hunting.
Air is the first film from the MA duo’s production company, Artists’ Equity. It airs in cinemas on April 5. Fans are excited about the dynamic-duo at it again! The film is directed by Affleck and starring both actors in addition to Viola Davis, Jason Bateman, Chris Tucker, Chris Messina, and Marlon Wayans.
