Boston Seaport is getting a new all-day destination centered on tea, matcha and Japanese-inspired hospitality. Bloom opens Tuesday, Oct. 6, in the lobby of 60 Seaport Blvd., serving hand-whisked matcha, espresso drinks, tea flights and Japanese-inspired food from late morning into the evening.
The new concept puts tea at the center of its menu, treating it as more than a morning drink. During the day, guests can stop in for customizable matcha lattes, rotating usucha — a thin, hand-whisked matcha — espresso and tea-based drinks available to enjoy on-site or take to go.
Opening highlights include a Strawberry Matcha Latte with house-made strawberry puree and milk foam, plus a Banana Cream Matcha Latte topped with banana cream foam. Guests can also explore matcha flights featuring teas from Japanese growing regions including Yame, Uji and Shizuoka, as well as Taiwan and China. Bloom will source from local purveyors MEM Tea and byChae.
As the day winds down, Bloom will transition into an intimate evening destination shaped by the precision and hospitality of Japanese culture.
A compact food menu is also on the way, with sandwiches and Japanese curry planned for lunch, followed by Japanese comfort-food plates at night. Japanese curry rice and miso cod are among the expected offerings.
Designed by Minick\Bom, Bloom features warm earth tones, nature-forward details and a horseshoe-shaped bar where guests can watch the careful preparation behind each drink. The space will be open daily from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.
