Halloween is heading underwater at the New England Aquarium, where hidden pumpkins and a submerged skeleton will give visitors a reason to look twice.
Sunken Pumpkins: Halloween at the Aquarium takes place Saturday, October 24, and Sunday, October 25, from 9 AM to 6 PM, bringing a weekend of seasonal activities to Boston’s waterfront.
Families can follow a fall-themed animal scavenger hunt, search exhibits for sunken pumpkins, and spot a skeleton beneath the surface of the Giant Ocean Tank. Aquarium educators will also offer an up-close look at animal skulls and bones.
Stop by the Exploration Station for guided and self-led activities, enter prize raffles, or pick up Halloween-themed treats for sale at the Harbor View Café.
Costumes are encouraged, and staff will dress up, too. However, leave inflatable costumes, balloons, lights, reflective materials, sharp or pointed objects, and weapons or weapon lookalikes at home to help keep animals and visitors safe.
Regular admission rates apply. Find the Aquarium at 1 Central Wharf and purchase tickets online at neaq.org or onsite.
