The inaugural Yoleni’s opened as a seven-story 8,600-square-foot marketplace in Downtown Athens in 2016. The brand since expanded to multiple locations in Europe and the United States, bringing “Yoleni’s Greek Gastronomy center” to Rhode Island in May 2018—the first United States retail store for the brand.
Greek gastronomy lands in Providence, Rhode Island✈️
The shop opened in an 1895 Providence landmark building. Yoleni’s fills the space of the former Tilden-Thurber Building which was designed by retired architecture firm Shepley, Rutan & Coolidge of Boston. This architecture firm designed parts of Trinity Church in Copley in addition to Harvard Medical School, the Flour and Grain Exchange Building, Langdell Hall at Harvard Law, and the Boston YMCA.
Inside Yoleni’s you’ll be transported to Greece with fresh made-to-order food like kebab, grape leaves, and pita sandwiches. You’ll also find a Greek yogurt bar and fresh desserts like baklava and galaktoboureko. Yoleni’s sources artisanal products from over 180 Greek gastronomers and curates a wide variety of over 1,000 products in its stores—ranging from the finest Greek olive oil to sfakianopita. Make sure to visit the expansive retail section to take home some Greek provisions.
